Finding activities that help grow the faith of your entire family can be challenging. So I decided to give you 5 things you can do to help grow the faith of the entire family.

Take a day of rest. or Sabbath

Exodus 20:8-11 ESV
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

Isaiah 58:13-14 ESV
“If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the Lord honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly; then you shall take delight in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

As you can see taking a day of rest is biblical and it’s a great opportunity to take a day to be intentional about spending time with God as a family.

2. Start your day with reading a scripture together as family,
and then follow up with a discussion on what you just read. This helps to apply the scripture to your day to day lives. The bible I like to use is the NIV study bible you can find it on Amazon HERE. The new international version is a great bible for beginners because it gives you the biblical context without all the “thy’s” and “thous.”

If you would like to spice things up with your bible you can also get a custom bible that fits your personality. This a great way to get your children to gain an interest in bible reading. A company that does great custom bibles is Kingfolk Co. you can find them HERE.

3. Play a game as a family that helps to grow your faith.
A good faith based game is Word Teasers: Faith based conversation starters. It's a great way to have those hard conversations with the family and adding biblical context to it. You can find Word Teasers on amazon HERE.

4. Read devotionals that are related to a specific topic or challenge your family is currently facing.
Pick someone in the family each week to read the devotional to keep everyone involved. Devotionals offer scripture with real life synopsis as explanations. Some devotionals I love come from Faith box. Faith box helps to grow your faith by delivering spiritually enriched christian devotional and exclusive do-good products right to your front door every month. But then I came across Crossflix. Crossflix offers unlimited faith based entertainment for the entire family. Many people are praying and asking God to send them signs about their next step when God is always sending us signs through the universe, you just may not not how to read the signs.
The text tells us that we are assigned guardian angels. In Psalm 9:11 It states: “He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.”
Another scripture states "the angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and delivers them.” Psalm 34:7. On countless occasions in the bible God always sent his angels to deliver a message to his people.
You see as a believer you are not just out in the world by yourself doing things on your own. There are angels assigned to your life helping you, leading you, and guiding you along the way. So how do the angels of God communicate with us? Well it can be through a number of ways, God will use anything and anybody in the universe to get your attention, weather it’s through circumstances, through people, but most importantly numbers.
Numbers are the universal language. Everything that we use and see today on daily basis are created by a formula or by numbers. There is a whole book in the bible called “Numbers” The ancients and people today study numerology which is the study of numbers and their meaning pertaining to life. Everything that God creates has meaning or a purpose nothing is just random or a coincidence. If Jesus had 12 disciples the number 12 means something. If God created for six days and rested on the seventh the number seven is just as important as the message. It is all meaningful. So my question to you is what numbers are you seeing in your life? Don’t ignore the signs your guardian angels are communicating with you.

How to know your guardian angels are communicating with you through numbers:

If you keep seeing the same number repeatedly. Some popular angel’s numbers include: 444, 1111, 333……. It can be on the highway while your driving or every time you look at the clock it says 8:19. That’s not a coincidence.

Synchronicity……For example if you were singing a song in your head and then all of a sudden that song comes on the radio. That’s not a coincidence or random, It’s your guardian angels trying to get your attention.

The day you were born and the time you were born is all significant to who you are and your life’s purpose. Moral of the story: Men lie woman lie the numbers don’t lie…loll

God loves you and so do I,

Jordan Thorpe

P.S. Ahhhhh I’m so excited for the launch of The Journey Academy TM and our first course “How to Find Self, Purpose, and Execute” is up and transforming lives.
How to Develop a Personal Relationship with God | For Beginners

I thought being a follower of Christ was about long skirts, no makeup, going to church Monday through Sunday, boring, no-fun, and covering up all the issues in your heart that you’re not really dealing with because people are looking up to you or putting you on this petal stool because you’re a leader in the church or connected to the leader in the church.

But boy was I wrong, it was actually the complete opposite. My life actually started to excel once I developed my own relationship with Christ. I found purpose, had vision, gained wisdom, knowledge, more peace, joy, happiness, contentment, and love. Here’s the thing, living a life as a believer has everything to do with your relationship with Jesus and the renewing of your heart and mind. That fact that you are able to see people as Christ see’s people. I’ve found that going to Church Monday through Sunday does not make you a believer. It means nothing if you have not developed your own relationship with Christ. Church is good for fellowship and should help to confirm everything that you’re already doing in your day to day life.

Jesus gave us two commandments. (1) To love the Lord God with all your heart, with all your soul, with your whole mind and with all your strength. (2) To love your neighbor as thy self. When you love Christ you’ll be able to love people as Christ loves people. So I encourage you not to let the man made rules of the church or religion define your relationship with God. Everyone’s relationship is not going to look the same. And that is ok. He’s our father and desires everyone to have a relationship with him. We are his children. If you need tips to help you develop your own relationship with Christ here are a few that helped me.

READ YOUR WORD.

Start with a scripture a day and be intentional about it.

God will meet us where we are.
