Fighting The Good Fight

Fighting The Good Fight

Have you heard of the saying you have to pick and choose your battles? Well this is a battle that your life depends on daily. The fight between living for the world and your own fleshy desires and the fight for living for God and surrendering your life over to him. Most people think that when you cross over and become a born again believer that you will not face trouble, attacks, or get tempted. Which is very false.  In fact, that is when the attacks will come the most you have to be able to apply all the scriptures that you are hearing in learning to your life. Or you’ll just be the believer who is wearing the team jersey but never hopped in the game.

The enemy does not want you to become the real version of yourself so it will do everything in it’s power to stop it from happening.

The good news is that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. It doesn’t mean that the attacks won’t come now you are better equipped to fight the battle when you are prepared for spiritual warfare. For the fight is not against flesh and blood but spiritual principalities.

Jesus said in Matthew 10:34 ‘Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword.” What is a sword? A weapon that one may use when in battle. Every day you wake up you have to be armored with the word of God and ready to face the world. Yesterdays word is not good for tomorrows attacks everyday you have to be renewing your mind and in prayer for yourself and for your family. When you feel like you are at a low point and are divided within yourself step back and look at your environments, the people who surround you, and what you are consuming on a daily basis. You need to consume more of God and less of the world. Remember we are Gods change agents on earth. We are to be in the world but not of it. Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith. 2Timothy 4:7-8

Here are three tips to help you fight the good fight:

  1. Pray and worship before you start your day
  2. Ask God to help you focus on the things above and not of this world
  3. Before you can bring unity into the world. You will need to bring unity within yourself. You can not serve both God and the world, something’s that you used to say yes to will need to become a no.
