I’ve realized that there aren’t many people who can accept and face their own truth. There are many people who hide and masquerade behind material things like cars, homes, and financial success but on the inside their hearts and motives are ugly. Deep down they try to compensate their self love in return for worldly possessions.
The good news is that you do not have to walk around broken you have the power to overcome. The text says: He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live for righteousness, by his wounds we are healed. (1 Peter 2:34) You’re only enabling yourself when you walk around in bondage from past hurt and pains, it leaves you broken and your brokenness can lead to you settling for things that is less than what God desires for you.
The truth of the matter is that you will never properly heal until you can face your truth and accept it for what it is. You can tell if you are running from the truth because you never want to talk about yourself and are so quick to to point the finger at someone else you want to keep the attention off your own flaws. You keep everything really general and on the surface because if you get too deep you’re afraid some one will find an opened wound that has never properly healed.
Everyone is flawed and is dealing with some kind of issue. Now weather or not you choose to over come those issues is up to you. The first step to self healing is first identifying that something is wrong. If you do not feel as though anything is wrong, you will never stop to try to get better. It’s just like when you go to the doctors. The first thing the doctor has to do is identify and name the illness before he can diagnose you so they can begin the treatment process.
That is the same way with God. If you do not come to him bringing him your past hurts and pains how can he begin the healing process. It’s not like he doesn’t know already, he is waiting on you on you to give it to him so he can heal you and make you whole. You can not be the light in the dark if you are constantly living in the dark. Allow God to shed light on the areas that you have hidden. But first you have to be honest with yourself and recognize that there is an issues so you can be healed. The truth hurts but God’s healing is worth the pain.
Here are three tips to help bring healing in your life:
-
Be honest with yourself. Once you are honest with yourself you can be honest with God.
-
Pray and ask God to identify your brokenness and make you whole.
-
God is the only one who can change people not people. So stop fighting with people and start praying for them. For the fight is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual principalities.
God loves you and so do I,
